£65,000 + 15% bonus

Grafton Banks Finance is working with a successful and progressive group of businesses, based in Battle, to recruit its new Head of Finance.

Reporting to the Chairman the role will lead a small finance team to manage the finances of the business; it will be part of the senior leadership team.

We are looking for a qualified accountant who is experienced working in SME businesses and is comfortable in hands on roles. Experience of managing small teams is essential.

This role will initially be full time office based with hybrid working to be discussed once established in the role. Salary for this role is £65,000 + 15% bonus, 5% matched pension, and 25 days holiday.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Managing the Finance Team of 3.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and present to business owners.
• Monitor and manage cash flows and rolling cash flow forecast.
• Ensure daily reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Oversee management of aged debtors.
• Monthly payroll.
• Ad-hoc financial and business projects.
• Lead liaison with external accountants, banks, and tax advisors.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be an excellent communicator, who is comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, you will need strong Excel skills, and experience of using Xero would be an advantage
