Credit Control

Grafton Banks Finance are working with a commercial company with offices on the outskirts of Lewes to recruit an interim Credit Controller for an initial 6-month period. The role is to support the business during a period of change and to support with the company’s cash flow. Hybrid working is on offer.

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Take full ownership of the sales ledger and debt collection process for the UK and European accounts. 
• You will manage cash collection, mitigate financial risk, and build strong relationships with clients across various European jurisdictions while ensuring compliance with local payment practices.
• Proactively contact customers across designated areas via phone and email to secure timely payments.
• Manage and reduce the Aged Debt profile for your region, minimizing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to resolve complex pricing, delivery, or billing discrepancies quickly.
• Evaluate new customer creditworthiness, set appropriate credit limits, and monitor account holds.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts and aged debt reports for senior management.
• Ensure accurate allocation of multi-currency payments (EUR, GBP, etc.) to customer accounts.

The successful candidate will have practical experience of working in Credit Control and collections alongside Sales ledger with a familiarity of distinct payment cultures. You will need to be technically strong and have accounting software experience and Excel alongside excellent communication skills to manage this Credit Control job both verbally and written. 

Due to the interim nature of this position, you will need to be available at short notice.
