** Salary - £70,000 plus bonus, private healthcare and significant WFH

Grafton Banks Finance is currently working with fast-growing insurance firm in East Sussex in the search for a new Group Accountant to join the team. This is a fantastic time to join the firm – the Group has seen unprecedented growth in recent years, creating numerous opportunities within their finance department.

It’s a varied role, covering everything from month‑end and financial statements to audit support and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, using your analytical mindset and technical expertise to drive accuracy, efficiency, and better ways of working. A real plus is that you’ll have significant working from home options.

Key responsibilities include

• IFRS month end close process within the outlined timetable in a controlled and accurate manner
• Financial risk management across the function through proportionate controls and oversight of all allocated tasks
• Balance sheet reconciliations, schedules and notes to ensure the monthly and annual accounts represent a true and fair view of the business performance

To be considered for this opportunity you will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with

• Experience in an IFRS group accounting function OR IFRS audit experience from an accounting practice
• Desirable is previous experience in a regulated group, financial services or insurance
• You must be a fully qualified accountant ACCA / ACA or CIMA

You should be deadline driven and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to develop relationships across the business and work as part of a professional, proactive finance team.
