Credit Controller

Grafton Banks Finance are working with a commercial services company with offices in Uckfield, East Sussex to recruit a Credit controller on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting into the Credit Manager and working within a team you will be responsible for managing and collecting supplier rebate income in line with agreed commercial terms. The role ensures all rebate agreements are accurately recorded, claimed, and collected in a timely manner, supporting cash flow, profitability, and strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Rebate Management & Collections
- Monitor and manage all rebate agreements with suppliers/customers, ensuring terms are correctly set up and maintained.
- Prepare and issue timely and accurate rebate claims in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Track outstanding rebate balances, follow up on overdue amounts, and resolve any disputes or discrepancies.
- Reconcile rebate statements against supplier/customer confirmations and internal records.
- Maintain up-to-date schedules of expected rebate income and payment dates.
- Financial Reporting & Controls
- Assist with month-end and year-end rebate accruals and reconciliations.
- Provide regular reports on rebate income, collections status, and variances against forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Support the wider Finance team in identifying and recovering missed or underpaid rebates.
Key Skills Required:
- Experience within accounts receivable, credit control, or rebate management.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret commercial and financial agreements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and financial/ERP systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proactive and results-driven approach to collections
- Analytical mindset with strong reconciliation skills
- Team player with a collaborative working style
- Professional, confident, and customer-focused attitude
This is a full-time permanent job opportunity working within a large friendly finance team. This job is working full time in office Monday – Friday. A competitive salary and benefits package is on offer.
