Assistant Accountant

Grafton Banks Finance are working with a commercial services company with offices in Brighton, East Sussex to recruit an experienced Finance Manager  on a full time permanent basis. Reporting into the Managing Director you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance operations, reporting, compliance, and collaboration with senior leadership and external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, authorise and issue payments, resolve discrepancies
• Accounts Receivable: Generate invoices, manage collections, monitor aged debt, handle billing queries
• Transactions & Reconciliation: Record all financial transactions and reconcile accounts accurately
• Payroll & Benefits: Ensure timely payroll and manage statutory deductions and benefits
• Budgeting & Reporting: Assist with forecasts, analyse financial data, and present reports to management
• Compliance & Audit: Conduct internal audits and monitor regulatory compliance
• Strategic Support: Provide financial insights for decision-making and liaise with senior teams.

The successful candidate will have practical experience with managing a company’s day – day finances, excellent communication skills and IT skills including operating Accounting Software packages. You will need to be comfortable working within an SME environment and be available within one months’ notice.
