Finance Director

Grafton Banks Finance Executive Search is working exclusively with a Brighton based private equity backed retail business to recruit a Finance Director. The business is now part of a larger group of companies and will benefit from this investment in order to rapidly expand through future acquisitions. The client is keen to hire an ambitious Financial Controller who is looking to step into their first Finance Director role. The role will sit on the board and will be critical to the successful growth of the business. You will need to be from a product-based background and will be experienced in a hands-on SME role. The business requires someone with high energy, commitment to continually improve reporting, controls, processes and systems and to add value commercially and strategically.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director you will manage a small team, taking responsibility for all aspects of finance for the business. This is a commercially focused role that will concentrate on building successful relationships with the Board and Senior Management Team. You will review contracts and the feasibility of new business revenue streams. Take responsibility for cash management, preparing budgets forecasts, board packs and MI for review. The role will require someone to improve reporting, governance and controls now that they are part of a larger corporate business as well as systems in the future.
