Grafton Banks Finance is currently recruiting a Finance Manager for a rapidly expanding £18m turnover company with offices in Central Brighton. This company is growing by acquisitions so its an exciting time to join. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with broad accounting skills and commercial acumen.  You will support the Finance Director in managing the daily onsite transactions, making sure these are properly recorded, accurately reported and supported by good financial control to include reconciliations and budgetary control and reporting.  Responsible for overseeing the day to day record keeping of all onsite transactions including: Sales, invoice purchase, credit cards, capital expenses, administration costs and bank reconciliations. You must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet business deadlines whilst maintaining an approachable and positive persona. You will thrive in a fast-paced work environment with outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal).

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Dealing with day to day routine queries and overseeing administrative costs relating to four offices
  • Overseeing bank and balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow reporting in £’s and €’s
  • Managing all aspects of financial control and planning including responsibility for the accounting system and robust accounting procedures and policies
  • Organising regular supplier payment runs
  • Managing weekly expenses routines for all employees
  • Month end reporting including reviewing accuracy of postings, reconciling control accounts, calculating prepayments/accruals and other adjustments
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Work with the Finance Director to drive efficiency in processes, controls and IT systems
  • Develop reporting and analysis
  • Manage fixed asset register
  • Ensuring full compliance with HMRC including producing and submitting VAT returns and sales lists
  • Assisting with annual audit requirements
  • Meeting with budget holders to deal with event expenses
  • Supervising/leading a team of 5  - covering accounts payable and accounts receivable

This role has the potential to develop into a Financial Controller position so requires a career hungry individual with strong leadership skills. You can expect to receive a bonus scheme. Pension and health care.
